The core gameplay of Worm Escape revolves around one simple question: Which worm should move first? Each level places several worms inside an intricate maze. Your objective is to move them in the correct order until the paths are cleared and the worms can reach safety. For example, one worm may be occupying a passage that another worm needs to use. Moving the second worm first could create a dead end, while moving the blocking worm away at the right moment may open the entire puzzle.

Besides, limited moves and the three-heart system add extra tension. Later puzzles become more demanding by placing more worms in confined areas and requiring increasingly precise movement sequences.
